These BK-16 and 21980's (believe 4 each) are assigned to the new National Guard unit protecting the bridge to Crimea.

National Guard website just reported the arrival of 6 Sargan high speed patrol boats to the Kerch marine unit along with the expected arrival of a further 2 boats. This unidentified special purpose brigade is assigned to guard the Crimea bridge. In addition to the Marine unit out of Kerch there appears to be ground patrol units (battalions?) on both shores. The BK-16 (02510) mentioned in the previous post is apparently the 02511 version which is larger then the Raptor (03160) by 4 tonnes. This 4 unit deployment of each boat type probably allows 1 unit at sea, 1 on alert and 2 on maintenance / training etc.

In addition to this National Guard unit, there is a Coast Guard base at Kerch, S-400 units at Kerch and Anapa plus a Pantsir battery attached to cover the bridge and a Coastal Rocket Artillery brigade at Anapa with Bal, Bastion and Berg anti-ship weapon systems.

In the US you have Customs, Border Patrol, and the Coast Guard all of which have some role in policing the border.

One of the units that the National Guard inherited from the Ministry of the Interior was the "private security" business FSUE Okhrana. Over the past 4 years this business has grown as several of the other Government Ministries have turned their Security Guard services over to the National Guard. The original staff number apparently was close to 117,000 (I had 113,000) and has now grown to almost 169,000. Have heard that the Federal Bailiff Service may be turning Security of the Courts over to the National Guard also.

Was the national guard mobilized during the recent NATzO sponsored insurrection or were those just regular police? I feel that NATzO 5th columnist clowns are not yet through and would like to keep the momentum of the current situation. Russia needs to preempt any NATzO actions and obliterate all NATzO worshipping vermins

Those blue cam uniforms with OMOH on the back are the OMON and they are National Guard. They would have done most of the Riot Control. Most of the dark uniforms would be police but the Special Motorized units of the National Guard can also wear dark uniforms and they too are trained in crowd control.

The military seamen of the Rosgvardiya trace their history back to March 3, 1978, when the first naval units of the law enforcement forces were formed in military units to protect strategic objects in the areas of the Trans-Baikal, Far Eastern Railways and the Baikal-Amur Mainline.

On March 3, servicemen and employees of aviation units of the National Guard of the Russian Federation celebrate the 43rd anniversary of the formation of departmental aviation. Today, the aviation of the Russian Guard includes more than 60 aviation formations of various levels, from regiments to individual detachments.

MOSCOW, March 24. /TASS/. About 10 thousand different combat missions have been performed by Rosgvardiya employees in Syria since 2018. This was announced at the final board of Rosgvardiya by the head of the department Viktor Zolotov.

"To date, on the Syrian soil, the National Guard troops have carried out about 10 thousand combat missions to control the situation in this region under the auspices of the military police forces of the Russian Defense Ministry," he said, noting that the department has been performing tasks in Syria since 2018. According to him, during this time, about 6 thousand soldiers of the Russian Guard have gained combat experience.

The press service of the ministry explained that the military personnel of the Russian Guard provide medical assistance to local residents, provide them with water and food, and also participate in the escort of humanitarian goods.

March 27th is National Guard Day and this year celebrates the 5th year (2016) since it's inception and the 210th anniversary (1811) of it's predecessor Troops of the Interior.

Director of the Rosgvardiya General of the Army Viktor Zolotov observed the course of the exercise of the special forces of the department in the seaport of Dudinka in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

The training of the SBR and military special forces units to work out joint actions in neutralizing a criminal group on board a container ship became one of the stages of the tactical and special exercises of the National Guard troops aimed at improving the actions of special forces in the Arctic zone when the situation at high-risk objects becomes more complicated.

The Arctic has been in the sphere of special attention of Rosgvardiya since the first days of the establishment of the agency. Currently, in the regions of the Far North, the troops of the National Guard of the Russian Federation protect 3 nuclear power facilities, 7 ships with nuclear installations, including the first floating nuclear power plant in Pevek, as well as 9 seaports of the Northern Sea Route, which are allowed to enter the ships of the nuclear fleet.

The exercise program includes five stages. In accordance with the plan of the training, the criminal group got on board a container ship that arrived at the seaport of Dudinka after an icebreaker with a nuclear power plant. The object of the attackers ' attacks was explosives transported in containers. Conditional criminals took hostages from among the ship's crew.

Special attention was paid to the sharp complication of the operational situation when working out the actions of the special forces.

The storming of the captured vessel was attended by servicemen and employees of the special forces center "Vityaz", the SOBR" Lynx " of the Central Security Service of the Russian Guard, police special forces units from the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk and the Chechen Republic, as well as detachments of military special forces. The participants of the special operation carried out the task of freeing the hostages and neutralizing the criminals in full.

At the end of the intermediate stage of the exercise, the Commander-in-Chief expressed gratitude to the personnel who took part in its preparation, and also held an award ceremony for employees and servicemen of the National Guard troops.

At a meeting with the participants of the exercise, Army General Viktor Zolotov noted that the importance of protecting the infrastructure of ports and nuclear fleet facilities in the Arctic regions requires the highest level of combat readiness from the National Guard troops, so special attention is paid to the training of personnel in Rosgvardiya, the conditions for conducting tactical and special classes and training are becoming more complicated.

The director of Rosgvardiya stressed that at extremely low temperatures of the Arctic zone, the Rosgvardiya will have to work out the issues of organizing cold overnight stays, parachuting, as well as the use of special vehicles.

The Commander-in-Chief emphasized that ensuring the security of large infrastructure projects is a complex task, and its successful implementation depends on the coordinated and effective use of human resources, special and aviation equipment, as well as a high level of coordination of interdepartmental interaction.

General of the Army Viktor Zolotov highly appreciated the training, professional and well-coordinated work of the special forces of the Russian Guard and presented the participants of the exercise with departmental awards. In addition, representatives of the administration of the polar branch of PJSC "Mining and Metallurgical Company" Norilsk Nickel "and the captains of three vessels of the Murmansk transport branch of this company were presented with medals "For assistance" and honorary certificates of the director of Rosgvardiya.

The exercise of the Russian Guard in the Arctic continues. Rosgvardiya pays special attention to strengthening the security of infrastructure facilities in the northern regions, including within the framework of the implementation of the Strategy for the Development of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation and ensuring national security for the period up to 2035. The scale of the tasks requires constant improvement of the potential of the National Guard troops. Last year alone, more than 700 violators of the access control regime were detained in the Arctic zone at important state facilities protected by Rosgvardiya units.

Currently, the forces and means of the National Guard troops provide protection for 3 nuclear power facilities classified as important state facilities, 9 ports of the Northern Sea Route, as well as 7 ships with nuclear power plants, including the nuclear icebreakers Yamal, 50 Years of Victory, Taimyr, Vaigach, the Universal nuclear icebreaker project 22220 "Arctic", "Sevmorput", as well as the first NPP in Pevek (floating nuclear thermal power plant).

In many ways, joint training and exercises contribute to improving the level of training and the quality of performing the tasks set.

Earlier in 2018, in the Murmansk region, as part of the special tactical exercise "Arctic-2018", the National Guard troops successfully worked out a number of service and combat tasks in cooperation with the border authorities of the FSB of Russia and the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, including during the landing in the area of Franz Josef Land.

It is 5 years since the formation of Rosgvardiya

On April 5, 2016, a new federal executive body, the Federal Service of the National Guard of the Russian Federation (Rosgvardiya), was created by a decree of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, in order to ensure state and public security, protect human and civil rights and freedoms.

The basis for the formation of the National Guard troops of the Russian Federation (hereinafter referred to as the National Guard troops, troops) was the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, which proved their effectiveness and ability to perform a wide range of service and combat tasks aimed at ensuring state and public security.

The National Guard troops included mobile special-purpose detachments, special rapid response detachments under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, as well as bodies and units that carry out extra-departmental protection and control over compliance with legislation in the field of arms trafficking and private security, private detective activities, as well as ensuring the security of fuel and energy complex facilities, and the activities of security units of legal entities with special statutory tasks.

The structure of the Russian Guard includes eight districts of the National Guard troops and territorial bodies. The districts consist of formations and military units that protect important state facilities, protect public order and ensure public safety, and perform operational tasks. Rosgvardiya also has its own aviation for the rapid delivery of personnel to certain regions of the country and naval military units. The elite of the department is the special forces, which include special purpose centers, military special forces units,SOBR and OMON.

The powers of the troops have been expanded, providing legal tools to prevent threats to protected objects in the water and air environment, regulating issues of ensuring their own security.

Since 2018, a contingent of National Guard troops has been performing special tasks in the Syrian Arab Republic. To date, on the Syrian soil, the military personnel of the department have completed thousands of combat missions to control the situation in this region.

For five years, despite the difficult stage of reforms, the troops successfully completed all the tasks assigned and proved their readiness to carry out even more responsible tasks of the state leadership.

So, in parallel with the participation in ensuring law and order and public safety of the guests and participants of the Confederations Cup in 2017 and the FIFA World Cup in 2018, as well as the presidential elections of the Russian Federation, the scope of tasks in the Arctic zone increased. Today, ships with nuclear power plants and ports of the Northern Sea Route are under the protection of the non-departmental protection of the Rosgvardiya. At the same time, Rosgvardiya became a coordinator in the work on the formation of a security system for the energy bridge and the transport crossing through the Kerch Strait. Since July 2020, these tasks have been successfully carried out by military personnel and employees of the Rosgvardiya together with colleagues from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the FSB, and the Russian Defense Ministry.

Participation in the fight against terrorism is one of the main tasks of the department. Rosgvardiya is entrusted with the authority to lead a Joint Group of troops to conduct counter-terrorist operations in the North Caucasus region.

The department carefully preserves the memory of the fallen comrades, provides comprehensive support to their families. Throughout the country, streets, schools, cadet classes, and a park of culture and recreation are named after military personnel and employees who gave their lives for the good of the Fatherland.

The motherland appreciates the work of the Russian Guards. About 2.5 thousand servicemen and employees of Rosgvardiya, as well as eighteen formations, military units and organizations of the troops were awarded state awards, commendations and certificates of the President of the Russian Federation. 306 pupils of the law enforcement forces were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, 172-became Heroes of Russia.

The soldiers of the Russian Guard are guided in their work by an unwritten Code of Honor, based on the glorious traditions of the troops and the memory of the exploits of the fallen comrades. And in everyday life, there are many examples of this, when military personnel and employees, risking their lives, protect the constitutional system and the rights of ordinary citizens. The troops do not keep statistics of rescued people. According to the most conservative estimates, the Russian Guard saved more than 1,000 human lives. On the water, in the event of a fire or other natural disaster, employees and military personnel come to the aid of people, regardless of whether they are on duty or on vacation.

The troops act for the benefit of the people and develop according to the requirements of the time. Their mobility, maneuverability and autonomy are increased. All this will require equipping with modern weapons, military and special equipment, and special means as part of the development of a new State armament program. Special emphasis will be placed on the development of information technologies, as well as the introduction of robotic systems and systems to counter them.

The management of Rosgvardiya has special control over the formation of an effective infrastructure. Sports and fitness complexes are being built in the troops, effective medical services are being organized, and service housing is being built. This helps military personnel and employees to perform their official tasks.

The department traces its history back to 1811, when the Internal Guard Corps of the Russian Empire was created by the decree of Emperor Alexander I. That is why the department is celebrating a double anniversary: 210 years of the troops of law and order and the 5th anniversary of the formation of Rosgvardiya.
