If possible can you S-300 experts try to identify the various trailers in the footage? Is the one starting at 0:26 the missile canisters one? I ask because the israeli agitprop media claims there are no missiles (i understand they would probably not have live missiles in the canisters). Thank you.

    Couple of questions:
How long will it take to have the systems up and running?
Have operational officers received training in Russia?
Did Iran order a sufficient number of systems to provide adequate coverage?
Are the systems modern enough to deal with Israeli air force?

This is just partial delivery, they say it will be completely delivered till years end. They are getting 2 batallions only for now it seems so its not enough for any serious coverage. Those are to be last S300 variant probably, last variation of S300PMU2.

My understanding is that the contract was for PMU-1, not PMU-2.  So the question is, are these PMU-2's or 1's?

As well, if Victors post is anything to go by, S-400 may be sold to Iran if they agree to it.

Well it was for PMU-1, question is, years passed since then, i am not sure that all components for PMU-1 are even being produced anymore. Also they made changes to original contract, and Russians themself said how system was "modernised", which i assume means that components from PMU-2 were installed.

I would suspect they would have had plenty of time to train properly.

Also it is not appearing in a vacuum... it can have a lot of other systems based around it plus aircraft providing mutual protection.

As I know a month or two ago the first Iranian S-300 crews return to Iran after finishing their trainings in Russia. They for sure know, how to use S-300, but they will still need a year or two to become fully combat ready and to master their skills.

    Thanks Militarov for your input.

As to the S-300 variants, i suspect that whether it's PMU-1 or PMU-2 they might be second hand units from VKS stocks, or perhaps the syrian ones, but on the other hand the vehicles seems to be all green. Anyway some on the iranian fora are going nuts again because they can't see the missile canisters, so either they are not delivered yet (would be very atypical though), or since likely the canisters will hold sealed ready to fire live missiles, that would be rather unsafe to just parade on the road like that, so it's possible they are transported separately and away from public areas.

S-300 elements on parade in Tehran. So at least something has been delivered, but indeed no canisters. This looks to be a PMU-2?

    Iran parades S-300 components
    Jeremy Binnie, London - IHS Jane's Defence Weekly | 09 May 2016
    Here: http://www.janes.com/article/60093/iran-parades-s-300-components

Iran's Armed Forces Day parade on 17 April featured a surveillance radar for a S-300PMU1/2, but nothing to suggest the Islamic Republic now has an operational fire unit for the long-range air defence system.

Iranian and Russian officials confirmed on 11 April the first S-300 delivery had taken place after video clips emerged on social media purportedly showing a convoy carrying components for the system through Iran's Caspian Sea port of Bandar Anzali.

A 64N6-series surveillance radar was clearly displayed during the parade six days later. While the system is usually mounted on a dedicated trailer that is pulled by a MAZ-7410 tractor, the Iranians divided the system (including the MAZ-7410) so it appeared on three separate trailers pulled by civilian tractors.

In contrast to the 64N6 components, a towed cabin and a mobile communications mast were labelled as S-300 components. The mobile communications mast appears to be a modern incarnation of the FL-95, which is used with S-300P-series systems to link command posts with dispersed launchers or network batteries into an integrated system.

The parade did not include a 30N6 engagement radar, missiles, or launchers from an S-300PMU1/2 system.

However, it did feature two Avtobaza-M mobile passive electronic intelligence (ELINT) systems that could be used to support an integrated air defence system. The Avtobaza-M is designed to detect and track aircraft by picking up their radar and radio emissions from up to 400 km away.

A senior Russian official went on the record in October 2011 to confirm that Russia had delivered the Avtobaza system to Iran. A Syrian opposition source claimed in 2012 that the Iranians were using the system to track rebel signals in Syria.

Other advanced Russian air defence-related systems that have previously been seen in Iranian parades and exercises include Nebo-SVU low-frequency and Kasta-2E2 low-altitude radars.

Iran's Air Force Receives Russian S-300 Air Defense System - Minister

Iranian Defense Minister Hossein Dehqan said Tuesday that the Russian S-300 air defense system had been delivered to the country's air defense forces.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – In April, Iranian military officials said that Tehran had purchased a batch of S-300 air defense systems. Local media reported at the time that Iran had displayed the Russian-made S-300 air defense systems during the annual military parade devoted to Army Day on April 17.

"The Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base has received the strategic S-300 air defense missile system," Dehqan was quoted by the Tasnim news agency as saying, adding that Iran has also completed development of the domestically-produced Bavar-373 air defense system, with mass production expected to be launched in 2016.

The $900-million Moscow-Tehran contract to deliver five Russian S-300 systems to Iran was signed in 2007. It was suspended after the adoption of UN Security Council sanctions on Iran in mid-2010.

In April 2015, Russia resumed talks on the S-300 deliveries following a framework agreement on the landmark deal ensuring the peaceful nature of Tehran’s nuclear program.

Russia and Iran are expected to fully implement the S-300 contract in 2016, according to Iranian defense officials.

TEHRAN (Sputnik) – Russia has fulfilled its commitments on the delivery of S-300 air defense systems and Iran's lawsuit will be withdrawn after the Islamic Republic has implemented the necessary procedures in the international court, member of Iran's Security Council Hossein Sobhani told Sputnik on Monday.

"We can say that the case is at the stage of suspension, its withdrawal requires certain measures that Iran needs to take in regard to the international court, but the main part of the lawsuit is fully settled after Iran received the first batch of the air defense systems," Sobhani said.

Russia and Iran initially signed an S-300 delivery deal in 2007, but its implementation was halted by Moscow due to UN Security Council sanctions against Tehran. In response, Iran filed a lawsuit against Russia.

No Plans for S-400 Purchase: Iran’s DM

"No we do not intend to do so," Dehqan told reporters in Tehran on Saturday, answering to a question about possible purchase of the Russian powerful air-defense system.

His comments came against the backdrop of a long process for the delivery of an older version of the Russian-made air defense system, S-300. Iran has been long waiting to receive the system it had purchased in 2007.

Under the 2007 deal, Russia was required to provide Iran with at least five S-300 defense system batteries. But the contract, worth more than $800 million, was revoked after then-President Dmitry Medvedev banned the supply of those systems to Tehran in 2010.

Later, Iran lodged a $4 billion lawsuit at an international court in Geneva against Russia’s arms export agency. However, Russian President Vladimir Putin decided in April 2015 to lift the self-imposed ban on the S-300 missile system delivery to Iran.

In April 2016, Iran displayed part of S-300 in a military parade in Tehran, held to mark the National Army Day. The gear unveiled in the ceremony included 2 radar systems of S-300, its carrier and command vehicles as well as the crane for lifting its missiles.

Also on May 10, minister Dehqan said the country’s Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base has been equipped with S-300 missile system.

Not Russian but zionist, and yes they are regardless of govt there, vide reasons for delay of S-300 delivery. As for Iran official statements are for public and IMHO are quite loosely related to real negotiations.

Why Bibi was travelling to Vova, why all this dez-info with S-300 delivery, what Iranian military delegations were negotiating with Moscow we can only guess and judge on results. S-400 if bought we probably will learn when half is already in Iran...

I hope that Russo-Iranian cooperation will strengthen. India/Iran are last parts to close Asia for US led Mordor.

About one battalion of Russian S-300 air defense systems supplied to Iran — Kremlin

The rest is expected to be supplied by the end of the year

MOSCOW, May 19. /TASS/. The first batch of S-300 air defense systems - about one battalion - has already been supplied to Iran, presidential aide for military-technical cooperation Vladimir Kozhin has said, adding that the other launchers due under the effective contract would be delivered by the end of the year.

"The first batch - about one battalion - has been shipped. We will comply with our liabilities by the end of the year," Kozhin said, when asked about the S-300 contract with Iran.

On Wednesday, May 18, the chief of the federal service for military-technical cooperation Alexander Fomin told the media that some S-300 systems had been delivered to Iran already. He avoided disclosing the exact number of S-300 already provided or the date when the supplies would be over.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, who oversees the defense-industrial complex, declared the beginning of S-300 supplies to Iran on April 11. He said that as soon as it received the first batch of S-300, Iran should revoke its lawsuit from Russia, filed when Moscow had refused to provide the systems several years ago.

Iran in 2007 declared that it had purchased Russia’s S-300 air defense launchers, but Dmitry Medvedev, who then held the post of Russia’s president, prohibited the supplies of these weapons to Tehran. Iran sued Russia nearly $4 billion. In the spring of 2015 President Vladimir Putin lifted the freeze.
