Despite recent media speculation about a potential increase, the Ministry of Defence has again officially confirmed that the full-time strength of the British Army will indeed reduce to 73,000 by 2025.
This decision forms a key part of the “Future Soldier” strategy, targeting a comprehensive force of over 100,000, which will include 30,100 Army Reserve personnel.

In 2021, the government announced it would reduce the size of the army from 82,000 to 73,000 trained regulars. It also said the army would be modernised to take advantage of new technologies.

Which is politician speak for, we are going to give you less money and less resources, but we still expect you to get the job done...

Well, times are tight and we need to keep sending money and resources to Kiev because it is not just corrupt Ukrainians making big money... the west is making big money on their end as well... so everyone they care about wins... and some people in the Ukraine win too.

Ahh well... the difference between an under funded force of 82,000 trained regulars would not win a lot more wars than 73,000 would win... lets face it... Britain is no longer able to fight wars on its own and has to form coalitions of the stupid... or coalitions of the oil grabbers or coalitions of the Lithium mines...

When you pretend your tanks are invincible then of course you are going to suffer when one is destroyed in combat...

There are a range of vehicles that rely more on speed and fire power in combat than armour... I mean with such thin roof armour on a Leopard 1 it really might as well have no roof armour... the reduction in weight would improve performance even if it did make the vehicle weather effected in heat and cold and wet conditions.

If you think of a foot patrol that this vehicle operates with as overwatch with 30 cal and 50 cal HMGs and perhaps even grenade launchers which a foot patrol would not have except the rifle calibre machine guns because of the weight... not just of the guns but also the amount of ammo needed to make them useful, then it does make sense, but equally it creates a target for the enemy to focus fire on to take out fairly easily even with HE fragmentation weapons hand thrown or rifle mounted grenade launcher launched.

A thermobaric rocket from an RPG aimed to hit either of the machine guns would likely take out the entire crew and vehicle in one shot... the vehicle essentially bunching your troops together to be killed.

But I guess it improves mobility.

Well being a British weapon... what is its effective range in drizzle or snow or rain or fog?

Not a bad looking system but it can't be your only air defence equipment...

Yeah, I am not shocked really... 120mm smoothbore... so the gun the current Leopards are using?

And it just looks like a Challenger 1 and a Challenger 2... and it looks rather heavy.

Are they willing to test it in the Ukraine?

    Uses eco-friendly fuel.
Comes with a car seat for children (in case the driver identifies as a woman).
Wider seats for the fatter asses of the obese soldiers.
Communications system comes with a wide variety of pronouns.

Hull frontal armor is seriously increased.
